Members of Congress and all Elected Officials Can:
- Visit some of the many Middle East Peace Making Organizations, and
- Observe and report what these organizations are doing on the ground.
- Listen to all sides of the conflict, including Hamas and Hesbula, then
- Publicly Acknowledge injustices no matter who is involved. Call it like it is: torture is wrong, suicide bombing is wrong, and The Israeli settlements are wrong. (We can’t expect peace if we lie and cover up the harm we commit.)
- Call for policies that correct all injustices committed by the United States and our Allies. (In particular, demanding an end to the illegal settlements in the West Bank)
- Oppose the sale of weapons and the general arming of the Middle East and
- Support Increased Funding for the Peace Corps.
- End the failed policy of Preemptive War, and
- Focus our vast budgetary resources on Waging Peace.
- Support a policy of Peaceful Non-violent Intervention with the Root Causes and Mechanisms of War.
- Study Peace by reading this Web Site and the books listed in the next section.
Finally, you must engage your constituents, the media, your faith, and other elected officials in a policy focused on Waging Peace.
